Gala de decernare a Premiilor Grammy 2023 a avut loc pe 5 februarie în Los Angeles. Pentru al treilea an consecutiv, evenimentul a fost prezentat de comediantul Trevor Noah, iar artiștii care au reușit să strângă cele mai multe nominalizări au fost Beyoncé, cu nouă nominalizări, și Kendrick Lamar, cu opt nominalizări.
De altfel, Beyoncé a intrat în istorie după ce a primit cel de-al 32-lea premiu Grammy din carieră. Astfel ea a doborât recordul pentru cele mai multe trofee câştigate în carieră, până acum această performanţă era deţinută de dirijorul Georg Solti, cu 31 de „gramofoane”.
A fost și noaptea lui Harry Styles, care a reușit, în mod surprinzător, să câștige trofeul pentru cel mai bun album al anului, favorite fiind Beyoncé şi Adele.
Mai merită menționat și că Samara Joy, tânăra cântăreață de jazz, a câştigat premiu Grammy pentru „revelaţia anului”, așa că e cu siguranță o artistă a cărei evoluție trebuie urmărită. În vârstă de 23 de ani, artista din Bronx a luat fața rockerilor italieni de la Maneskin.
Un alt eveniment al serii a fost și faptul că actriţa Viola Davis a reușit la această ediție să atingă statutul de EGOT - artist care are în palmares cele mai importante 4 premii din industria de entertainment: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar şi Tony. La această ediție, Viola Davis a primit un Grammy pentru cartea audio „Finding Me”. În acest fel ea a devenit a 18-a persoană care deţine statutul de EGOT.
